Many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have long been considered "white spaces" in the traditional financial system due to their lack of collateral, limited credit history, and small transaction size. However, the financial and e-commerce sectors are driving a fundamental shift in the way SMEs access and utilise financial services. In this context, embedded Finance has emerged as a structural trend, not simply a technological innovation, but a comprehensive reshaping of the traditional financial ecosystem. This study aims to examine the fundamental issues of embedded Finance, addressing key questions such as: Why is embedded Finance booming? What are the benefits, challenges, and prospects of applying embedded Finance to SMEs globally? The findings of this study are expected to help SMEs strengthen their internal capacity, enabling them to effectively and sustainably adopt embedded finance models.
