Mercantile exchanges play a vital role in global trade by regulating international commodity flows, shaping market trends, and providing price forecasts and assessments. In Vietnam, the Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam (MXV) is currently the sole licensed commodity exchange, connected with major global exchanges such as CME group, ICE US, and TOCOM/OSE. MXV facilitates the trading of a wide range of commodity groups, effectively serving as the national-level centralized commodity exchange. Its development has introduced a new investment channel for domestic investors, while helping businesses optimize operations and hedge against price volatility. For the broader commodity market, MXV significantly contributes to price transparency and strengthens Vietnam’s integration into the global supply chain.
