Tóm tắt

Domestic migration plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development of both national and local levels. It contributes to poverty reduction, enhances workers’ skills and income, and facilitates the redistribution of human resources to support socio-economic development and the transformation of regional economic structure. The rapid expansion of foreign direct investment (FDI), coupled with industrialization and urbanization, has generated a substantial demand for labor in industrial zones, attracting a numerous of young migrant. This influx has contributively addressed the local employment needs and provided migrant workers with better income and employment opportunities. However, migrant workers also face heightened vulnerability, which poses challenges related to inequality and limited protection of their social security rights. Drawing on data on the number of FDI projects, net migration rates, and the Labor Force Survey in 2022, this study seeks to analyze the vulnerability of domestic migrant workers in FDI areas, to shed light on these emerging risks and suggest some policy implications.
