As sustainable development has become an essential requirement for listed companies, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosure plays an increasingly important role in enhancing corporate transparency and meeting stakeholders' expectations. This study examines and compares ESG disclosure practices between financial and non-financial firms listed in the VN30 Index during the 2023–2025 period. Data were collected from annual reports, sustainability reports, and corporate websites using content analysis. An ESG disclosure index comprising fifteen indicators across the Environmental, Social, and Governance dimensions was developed to assess disclosure practices. Although the overall ESG scores of financial and non-financial firms were relatively similar, the two groups differed in their disclosure focus: financial firms emphasized governance-related information, whereas non-financial firms disclosed more environmental and social information. The study provides empirical evidence on ESG disclosure practices in Vietnam and offers practical implications for improving sustainability reporting among listed companies.
