The aim of the study is to emphasize the differences in work values within Generation Z, specifically between university students and employees. The research is grounded in Generational Theory and employs a recognized work value scale from previous studies, using Welch's test to identify differences in a sample of 483 observations. The findings reveal that, despite belonging to the same generation, there are significant differences in expectations regarding social values and leisure time between the two groups. This study enriches the understanding of work values in Vietnam and demonstrates the shift in work values from university lecture halls to office environments among Generation Z. It raises questions about what drives these changes in student expectations after entering the workforce and how these shifts impact the career paths of Generation Z.
